Like most activities I am drawn to, photography is a practice that is part art and part science. If we take the view that "science" is (by nature) objective, factual, precise, calculable, knowledge-based, and that it presents systematic principles and methods by which to obtain repeatable results... and that "art" is (by nature) subjective, born of creativity and imagination, absolved of the concept of precision, unpredictable, and completely open to interpretation... then we can consider "science" and "art" to be 2 points connected by a line; a continuum.
The beauty of photography then, in my eyes, is not just the end result... but also in the pursuit of discovering where along that continuum each of us, as scientist/artist hybrids, reside.
